![]() | I have lived in Teton Valley, Idaho for over 16 years. In the shadow of the beautiful Teton Mountains I work to help women through one of the most important times of their lives. In 1999, while studying yoga in India, I became interested in Ayurveda and at the same time, pregnant. By the end of the year I gave birth to my daughter, Nanaki and began to dive into the knowledge of Ayurveda, the traditional healing science of India. In 2007, I graduated at the top of my class from the California College of Ayurveda, receiving certification as a Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist (C.A.S.). In 2008, I began working with women during the postpartum period, adapting the traditional wisdom of ayurveda to provide greatly needed support for modern women. |
The postpartum period is viewed as a time of great transformation for the woman both physically and psychologically. I place emphasis on nurturing her during this sacred window to support recovery, rejuvenation and to prepare her for the role of mother. I provide this support through daily consultations, specially prepared meals and herbal support to enhance digestion, recovery and lactation. A nourishing warm oil massage for the mother and baby is also incorporated to soothe the nervous system. Each mother is viewed as a unique individual, so support is custom designed to fit the needs of the mother and her family. A woman emerges from this transformative postpartum period feeling revitalized, integrated and prepared instead of exhausted and depleted.
In addition to being a mother and a C.A.S., I am a DONA trained postpartum doula and am working toward certification as an Ayurdoula. My unique approach to care allows me to adapt to the needs of the women and families I work with. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
